Life of Christ
Scenes depicting the Life of Jesus are generally of a more narrative form than the typical iconic imagery of his Crucifixion or of the Virgin with Child. As such they have also been more open to variations at different times and in different territories. They also offer the opportunity for the depiction of lyrical and telling moments through which we can identify with the actual life of Jesus the man.
